I sometimes buy clothes and shoes by Zalando. And, I return items when my purchase is too big/small, or I’m not just satisfied with it, etc..(General return policy in Germany will be explained at later.) The return label is sent to you with your purchase, so return process is so easy.

It is a online shop of Galeria, a famous german department store.
You may think that department stores’ items are expensive, but you could often find that they are cheaper than other sites, with limited coupons or sale.

General Return Policy of German Online Shop
Finally, I would like to tell you about the return policy when using German online shop.
German law states that items purchased over the Internet can be returned within 14 days. (Widerrufsrecht) Moreover, major online retailers such as Amazon and Zalando extend this period and have their own longer return periods.
You can return your purchase not only when it has defect, also you order wrong size or you just don’t like it. This is why the return rate is so high in Germany. I was also hesitant to return an item at first, but now I do so without any hesitation.
Major online shops send a return form and mailing label with purchased items, so the return process is very easy. But be careful to a shopping at small online stores!
When I bought a yoga mat before, I compared the price between Amazon and another site, and found that the other site was only 1 euro cheaper, so I bought it there. However, the yoga mat I received was defective. And even worse, the return procedure was a hassle and took an extremely long time.
